So far Hearthstone has received one adventure-style update based around Naxxramas from World of Warcraft called the Curse of Naxxramas. Now there is a second one coming our way soon and this time it is based off of Blackrock Mountain. In fact the name of this adventure update is exactly that, Blackrock Mountain.
Here’s the official storyline for the upcoming Blackrock Mountain adventure update:
Trouble stirs beneath Blackrock Mountain. Deep within the fiery cracks of the Molten Core, Ragnaros the Firelord is massing his elemental forces, posing a serious threat to the black dragon Nefarian’s mountaintop lair. Things are about to reach a flashpoint… better break out the cards and show these two how real heroes settle their differences: with a civilized game of Hearthstone!
Like the Naxxramas adventure, Blackrock Mountain will have different ‘wings’ that will be unlocked each week after its initial launch. Players will be able to buy each wing individually or all of them for a single price, just like with the Naxxramas adventure. And just like the Naxxramas one, there will be new cards introduced into the game across all ranks of cards, both normal and Heroic mode for each wing, Class Challenges, a new game board themed around Blackrock Mountain, and of course, dragons.
As of right now there is no exact release date as to when Blackrock Mountain will be released, only that it is ‘coming soon’. Until then, Blizzard has released a cinematic trailer to check out.
