Nitrome releases a new death-filled dungeon crawler today called Redungeon

Nitrome, one of the few masters of retro-style games on Android, has released a new title today called Redungeon. This particular game is an endless dungeon crawler with roguelike mechanics and procedurally generated content. In other words, each run of this game will always be different and challenging.

Redungeon has players taking control of a brave knight who has entered a dungeon with the hopes of vanquishing all the evil creatures within it, and possibly finding a bunch of loot in the process. Once you enter said dungeon, you will be moving from room to room, and dealing with whatever each room presents you. Some rooms may contain enemies, while others being filled with traps, and others still having bosses you will need to deal with. It could also be a combination of those fun things.

Redungeon Features:

• Endless, random, increasingly difficult dungeons.
• Dozens of complex traps carefully designed to stop you.
• Great music by Dave Cowen, the composer behind Leap Day and Rust Bucket.
• Lots of angry, colorful pixels (and a few friendly ones).
• Swipe controls or on-screen buttons.

Players will have a bunch of different characters that you can unlock through playing the game. You start off with your noble knight, but then you can start unlocking others to use, each with their own unique skills as well. Controls can either be using swipe gestures or on-screen controls. Oh, and we should mention that you can’t really take your time moving through the dungeons either. Taking too long will have a bunch of monsters hiding in the shadows consuming you if you do take too long.

Redungeon is available off of Google Play for free and does contain optional IAPs as well for extra in-game currency. Of course you can earn enough and unlock upgrades by just playing the game as well over time.
