Noodlecake Studios releases the retro side-scrolling arcade game Commander Pixman

The latest addition to the Game-A-Week project has finally arrived and right on time. Every Thursday, at least that seems to be the pattern, Noodlecake Studios will release a popular iOS onto Android thanks to their method of being able to run native iOS coded games on Android. All you retro game fans out there have a new title to get all giddy over.

The latest release in Noodlecake Studios’ Game-A-Week Project, or GAWP for short, is the fun side-scrolling retro arcade game called Commander Pixman. I think Noodlecake sums this game up the best with their description of it being a mix of Super Meat Boy meets the Atari generation.

This retro style side-scrolling platformer has a lot of level, 135 to be exact. The action is pretty fast-paced and not really for the weak of heart. You’ll have your guns blazing as you take down a plethora of enemies while avoiding even more traps in your attempts to complete all 135 levels.

Commander Pixman’s goal is simple, escape from the enemy base while killing everything in sight. Find your rocket and blast off back to home. Unlike previous release in the Game-A-Week project, this one is a free download and is supported with in-game purchases of some levels. Next week’s release in the Game-A-Week Project is the cute but challenging physics puzzler called Foozle which was developed by William Thurston.
