ODROID-T Gaming Tablet

Well it was bound to happen sooner or later with the onslaught of tablets coming to light with Android on them. Hard Kernel, who developed the ODROID, has now developed the ODROID-T. This is a tablet designed with high definition video and gaming in mind. The original ODROID was a PSP looking device running Android 1.6 (upgraded to 2.1) and seemingly sold out quickly.

The ODROID-T is a 10.1″ 1360 x 768 resolution tablet focused on video and gaming running Android 2.1 and 1080p video playback. Full spec list include:

  • Samsung S5PC110 Cortex-A8 1Ghz with 512KB L2 cache
  • 3D Accelerator SGX540(up to 20M triangles/s and 1000M pixels/s) a.k.a ARM Cortex A8 processor
  • 512MB Mobile DDR 400Mega data rate
  • 10.1inch 1360 x 768 LVDS interface(capacitive touch)
  • 1080p video playback via HDMI cable
  • WiFi/Bluetooth
  • USB2.0 Host
  • Accelerometer
  • Android2.1
  • External GPS

According to Hard Kernel the ODROID-T will be available for worldwide shipping in early July with a price tag of $549USD for the developer edition so the Lite and Premium editions being priced somewhere between $249-$449USD if they decide to make it like the original ODROID. Unfortunately we couldn’t get our hands on an ODROID for testing so hopefully we’ll be able to nab an ODROID-T for review.

Until then, here’s a couple of videos we can stare at…
