Old School Runescape is Holding a Month-Long DMM Tournament for #PlayApartTogether

Starting this Friday, Old School Runescape developer Jagex is holding a competitive DMM Tournament as part of the games industry’s #PlayApartTogether initiative.

The tournament, which will last a month, will see all entrants starting from scratch with a new character and getting them levelled up as quickly as possible. Being killed in the DMM service will exact a high price in terms of progress.

After the opening stages, the field will be whittled down to 2,000, in a brutal Hunger Games-esque fight for survival. By the time the finale rolls around on May 30th there will only be 256 players remaining. In the end it’ll be 1v1.

The winner will receive prizes including $1,000, a Razer Ultimate Bundle, and other assorted goodies. The runners up will get prizes, too, with everybody up to 16th place winning a year long Old School Runescape membership, and players closer to the top of the tree winning money and gear too.

Jagex will also make s £25,000 donation to CPSL Mine, The Prince’s Trust, and Rise Above the Disorder.

To enter, just log into the designated DMM servers (world 401-412) from Friday May 1st.
