I have a confession to make. I’ve been playing this game regularly since it was released. Today when I went to log into One piece Treasure Cruise I was greeted with a new piece of news, that a version 2.0 update is on the way and with it a new island to work your way through as well as other goodies. On top of that the Easter Event has begun in-game as well.
For those of you not familiar with this game, basically you will be going island hopping, working your way through each stage on each island by beating the crap out of all the enemy groups you encounter. You, of course, will be in control of the good guys from One Piece and, if you’re a fan of the anime, you should get a few laughs from the dialog as well.
The Version 2.0 update will bring Twin Cape to the game which will be a new island for players to clear, complete with new enemies as well. There will also be a new Evolution Set for Zoro if you clear Shells Town. However, if you have already cleared Shells Town when the update arrives, this won’t apply to you. The notification system will be getting updated as well although what exactly Bandai Namco is doing with it remains to be seen. The Mail Box capacity will be expanded by 100 as well. Lastly, Extra Island will be expanded. This means that there will be more to do there each day, which is good. Extra Island can be very important when trying to get new characters or Evolution characters.
The One Piece Treasure Cruise Easter event has also begun. It actually began on March 24th, 2015 but it really kicked off yesterday when the Easter Eggs actually appeared for the Easter Egg hunt. The event actually has five different parts to it. There is the Easter Egg hunt, where players can go to the official Strategy Guide website, find Easter Eggs that have a corresponding letter with them, and then entering the correct secret message will reward you with some cool prizes. During the Easter Event, players will have double the chance to level up a character’s special every time you do a Power Up.
Also during the event there is a much higher chance of receiving a high level character or Evolution character when using Friend Points to recruit characters. Finally, everyone will receive a free Rainbow Gem every day for the event when they log in each day.
The Easter Event has already begin and will run until April 7th, 2015. As for the Version 2.0 update, no word on when that will actually arrive, only that it is coming soon.
