OnLive will be coming to your GoogleTV soon.

Wish you can play the latest and greatest games without the expense of overpriced hardware? You’re in luck as Google recently announced a partnership with video game streaming company, OnLive. Steve Perlman, founder and CEO of OnLive, revealed on the official Google blog, plans to bring their program to Google TV enabled devices and television.

Starting with OnLive Viewer, users will be able to view live action gaming of other players from around the world with the Arena feature. OnLive viewer also includes the popular Brag Clips (pre recorded video of your favorite moments) so everyone can see how great, or terrible player you are. But what about gaming you ask? Unfortunately OnLive currently does not allow gameplay steaming but plans on a future update that will bring full feature.

As we do with most new platforms, OnLive is starting out with a Viewer on Google TV, so for now, you can just watch and use OnLive social features. But hang in there, OnLive is working closely with Google to enable full gameplay with OnLive gamers from around the world on Google TV.  And more Google TV devices are coming, with OnLive built right in.

OnLive seems to be poised to replace consoles and provide triple A titles to internet connected devices. OnLive recently released their app to mobile devices and tablets this winter and with the partnership with Google TV, will soon make its way into your living room. However, with bandwidth caps, expensive data plans, and ISP coverage can cripple the service to just a pocketful of audience. Despite this jarring issue, just imagine gaming on your 42-inch television and pick up where you left off on your tablet or smart phone while on the go. It’s not too far off as VIZIO showcased the first-ever line of Google TV products with OnLive playability built in at CES 2012.
