It’s been almost two years since we talked about Ossian Studios and their highly anticipated 3D RPG The Shadow Sun that will be making its way to iOS and eventually confirmed for Android. Well since our post details had stopped coming out from the studio as they kept quiet, working on this pretty big RPG title. Now we finally get to see a glimpse of what everyone’s patience has bought them with some beta screenshots of The Shadow Sun.
To recap who Ossian Studios is and who makes up the team there, the company is made up of veteran game developers including Alan Miranda who was the producer for Baldur’s Gate II: Throne of Bhaal and the entire studio was also apart of the development for the Neverwinter Nights Series. So they know a thing or two about making a good RPG for players to enjoy.
The Shadow Sun is a western-style 3D RPG that is centered around one place, the imperial city of Shal. While tension runs high with the world inhabitants, aliens have somehow entered the fray and have begun tampering with the planet’s sun. As they mess with the sun, the world is slowly being engulfed in a shadow that comes with some pretty horrible results.
There are some rather unique features to this game including the ability to end up turning into a villain instead of a hero. It all depends on the choices you make throughout the game. You’ll also be able to fight along side allies that you will meet along the way.
The Shadow Sun is still slated for release onto iOS first, which should be sometime later this Summer. The Android version will hopefully be arriving at some point after that so we still have a bit of a wait before we get to play it since their focus right now is getting the iOS version out.
