Out There: Omega Edition has finally arrived onto Android but as an update

Out There has been on Google Play for some time now and it is still a fun game to play. If you’re not familiar with this game, Out There is an adventure game with RPG elements layered over it. Players take control of a space ship, flying from planet to planet, meeting new alien species at times, or finding new technology to research and use.

The storyline actually plays a big role in understanding how the game works and what you have to do. Essentially you are an astronaut awaking up from a cryonics sleep and happen to not be in the solar system you started off in when you went to sleep. Instead you are out there, in a far and unknown place of the galaxy. The goal in Out There is to survive and this is done by upgrading your ship, harvesting fuel and resources at the planets you stop over at, and refilling your oxygen so you can actually breath while in your ship. Failing to keep your ship fueled and stocked with oxygen results in you dying and game over.

In fact this game is quite challenging. Some planets will kill you, as will some other hazards you encounter. At any point you could die and when that happens you start over again, and there are plenty of ways to die. Needless to say it’s a fun game, although frustrating at times, but in a good way.

The Omega Edition was going to be an expansion for the original Out There game, then a sequel, and was actually released onto PC as a separate title. However, it looks like it has ended up as an expansion and if you own the Android version of the game, today marks the update where the Omega Edition becomes available as a free update. So instead of the Omega Edition being a separate game on Android, it is a free DLC.

Omega Edition Features:

• New graphics
• 3 new spaceships
• 50+ new interactive stories
• 1 new ending
• 10 new achievements
• New leaderboard
• Extended soundtrack

If you’re a fan of this game, and have been waiting for Omega Edition to get released, you can now download this off of Google Play for free. You should see it available for download as an update within Google Play. Once you’ve downloaded it, you’ll have access to the Omega Edition.
