INUTAN has launched an open beta test for OverField, their 3D cosy action RPG. It’s running on Android until October 27th. The game has a soft-toned, dreamlike setting with both science and supernatural themes.
What’s the story?
You step into the role of a rookie Exploration Captain newly recruited by Rota Tech. It’s an organisation tasked with exploring the mysterious Open Space.
Open Space, on the other hand, is a dimension where logic, fantasy, and illusion coexist. It’s a place that feels half-scientific experiment, half-fairytale gone wrong.
You get to switch between two layers of reality. There’s the everyday world. And then, there’s the surreal Pocket Dimension where you encounter strange creatures and bizarre phenomena.
The cosy pace and the small details of the game are what make it unique. Picking up hidden items, working through clever little puzzles, and taking part in charming rhythm-based fights are all quite playful.
The varied companions are a lively part of the journey too. Among them are a tsundere tech expert and a scatterbrained scout who are worth mentioning. Over time, you can form bonds with them and shape how your group interacts.
The game lets you customise over 20 parts of the outfits, experimenting with colours and combinations. The same flexibility extends to base-building as there are over 20 furniture themes to mix and match.
Will you join the OverField open beta test?
The game’s diorama-style 3D maps almost resemble handcrafted animation sets. There’s also a social side that offers simple comforts. You can lounge on a hammock, join a barbecue gathering, or dress in cosplay outfits at community events in Rota Plaza.
The OverField open beta test is live now until October 27th. You can jump in directly via the Google Play Store, no pre-registration is required.
