Persona 5: The Phantom X is finally coming to the global audience, and pre-registration on Android is already live. Earlier, it was announced that the game would be released in Japan on June 26th, 2025. The best part now is that June 26th is the date for the global launch, too.

The game launched a year ago in China and later in Taiwan, South Korea, Macau, and Hong Kong, where it’s available on Android, iOS, and PC. Now, SEGA and Atlus are making sure that it’s getting a full release worldwide.

Developed by Black Wing Game Studio with input from former Persona 5 devs, Phantom X runs on a free-to-play model. So, obviously, there’s a gacha system which will let you summon different characters to join your party.

Persona 5: The Phantom X Global Pre-Registration Is Now Live

The global release will feature Japanese voice acting and the option for either English or Japanese text. If you’re hyped about it, go ahead and pre-register on the Google Play Store. Also, catch the first look right here!

As for the story, Phantom X puts you in the shoes of a completely new protagonist with their own crew of Phantom Thieves. They roam around a stylised version of modern-day Tokyo with new palaces and mementoes.

The game also has some light social-sim elements and dungeon crawling. It keeps the series’ signature turn-based combat and dual-life rhythm. Alongside these, there’s a guild system, a PvE mode called Velvet Trials, and some familiar faces from Persona 5.

The story kicks off with the protagonist waking up from a nightmare, only to find themselves in a warped version of reality. Along the way, you meet a talking owl named Lefaye, the usual Velvet Room crew, including the ever-unsettling long-nosed man and his assistants.

That wraps up our scoop on the Persona 5: The Phantom X global pre-registration. Also, read our next scoop on Crunchyroll’s Roguelike Combat Deckbuilder Shogun Showdown.
