PlatyGuard: Swarm Slayer is a new action roguelike on Android. ChillyRoom is the studio offering the game on mobile. They are known for their previous titles, Soul Knight, Meow Hunter and the recent Inkvasion.

Parry Counter x Action Roguelike

The post-apocalyptic wasteland it drops you into leans into biopunk and dark sci-fi. It’s a world with Hive portals, corporate disasters, and insect monstrosities that have rewritten whatever future humanity thought it had.

The premise centres on taking one of the many Platyguards into the ruined landscape. You get to choose from more than a dozen heroes.

Some rely on precise parries, while others prefer to bulldoze through enemies with brutal combos or sit back with dodge-and-shoot tactics. Charged attacks, assassination-style mobility, and other specialised mechanics are also part of the game.

PlatyGuard: Swarm Slayer stuffs its runs with hundreds of skills, items, and wild synergies. Magic-heavy loadouts and lightning storms that erase screens. It’s all viable if you manage to survive long enough.

Across 6 large zones, the wasteland shifts between ruined shelters and plague-ridden territories. There are different hazards and over 50 enemy varieties. Elite monsters and bosses tend to show up with immediate hostility.

The devs clearly want the combat to stay sharp and reactive. It fits with the core loop of spotting weaknesses, dodging, clashing, and shattering enemy defenses before finishing them off.

The launch comes with a minor update. Lark’s technique has been altered so that thrown shurikens can now parry targets or knock away incoming projectiles. Prophecy – Build Ban has been expanded so you can block unwanted builds right from a stage’s starting room. Drone range has also been freed from the influence of obstacles.
