Pokemon-Esque Collect-’em-Up Monster Rancher 2 is Coming to Android This Fall

Monster Rancher 2, the Pokemon-esque monster-collecting game from Koei Tecmo, is coming to mobile this fall.

That’s the news coming out of Famitsu, Japan’s iconic video game magazine, which claims that the enhanced port of the 1999 PlayStation title is coming to Switch, iOS, and Android. According to Wikipedia, it’ll be out in November.

Working on a Monster Farm

While details remain thin on the ground, Toei Tecmo revealed that the game will contain over 400 monsters, as well as various improvements based on player feedback. Given that Monster Rancher 2 has existed for more than 20 years, one can only assume that feedback will be plentiful.

If the first Monster Rancher port is anything to go by, it’s likely that Monster Rancher 2 will receive a reasonably dramatic overhaul. We’ll be able to find out for ourselves before the year is out.

P.S., In case you’ve just looked at the image for this story and you’re experiencing confusion, Monster Farm 2 is the game’s Japanese title.
