Pokémon GO is rolling out a special event, Sweet Discoveries, featuring the debut of Applin. It’s a must-attend event if you love collecting new Pokémon or chasing shinies. Keep reading to find out all about this event.
When Is Applin Debuting in Pokémon GO?
The Sweet Discoveries starts on April 24th at 10:00 a.m. and runs until April 29th 8:00 p.m. The most exciting part is Applin finally making its debut in Pokémon GO. It’s a Grass, Dragon-type Pokémon from the Galar region.
You’ll need 200 Applin Candies and 20 Tart Apples to evolve it into Flapple. Or you need 200 candies along with 20 Sweet Apples to evolve it into Appletun. When evolving to Dipplin, its final evolution is Hydrapple.
Now here’s the thing with the Apples. Part of the evolution requirement, they’ll be out there in the wild. If you tap on them, you might get a Tart Apple, a Sweet Apple or it could be Applin itself. Remember that Apples have a better shot at showing up around Mossy Lure Modules.
Did You Know?
Applin spends its entire life inside an apple. It hides from its natural enemies, bird Pokémon, by pretending it’s just a fruit and nothing else. Undoubtedly, Applin is one of the cutest mon in the entire roster of Pokémon GO.
During the Sweet Discoveries event, there will be some new avatar items in the shop. You’ll find an Applin Headband and an Applin Apron. Meanwhile, in the bonuses department, you’ll get 2× Candy for catching Pokémon during the event.
There’s a better chance to run into Shiny Delibird and Shiny Skwovet out in the wild. Also, there’s an increased chance of hatching Shiny Delibird, Shiny Cherubi, and Shiny Skwovet from 7 km Eggs.
Another little touch to the event is the berries. If you catch a Delibird or Skwovet, they’ll drop berries. So, grab Pokémon GO from the Google Play Store, if you haven’t already.
