Pokemon GO gets updated with a few bug fixes. New code hints at 100 new 2nd generation Pokemon coming soon.

Niantic Labs has released a new update for Pokemon GO which addresses a few different bugs that have been squashed with the arrival of this update. However, while bug fixes are always good, the real news comes from within the added coding of this update, which has been datamined and found to contain hints at the arrival of 100 new Pokemon soon, many of which fall into the 2nd generation of creatures in the franchise.

The folks over at Silph Road have published their finding from their datamining time, stating that Niantic Labs has been getting ready to release at least 100 new Pokemon in an update that will be arriving soon. This does fall right in line with the last information we received about a future content expansion arriving in the very near future.

The coding that was found mentions Pokemon numbered 152-251, with #152 being Chikorita, and #251 being Celebi within the Pokedex. Another item that has been found is the addition of a new move called Transform, which is the main skill for Ditto. That should be interesting to see how that move plays out, if it literally allows you to turn into other Pokemon or not. If you follow which Pokemon should be in the game right now, Ditto is the only non-legendary original Pokemon that is not in the game yet.

Ditto

So Niantic Labs has laid the foundation down for the addition of 100 new Pokemon which will be arriving in the near future, more than likely the next update. When that will arrive, we don’t know yet. There’s also some other interesting items that have been datamined out, such as a new Lockout System, Quest System enhancements, and more. As for the new update that just arrived, here’s what you will find with it:

– You’ll earn bonuses for the first Pokémon catch and PokéStop visit each day. You’ll receive a larger bonus when you do this seven days in a row.
– When you defeat the Gym Leader at a rival Gym, there will be a brief period of time where only you will be able to place a Pokémon in the open Gym.
– The amount of Prestige a rival Gym loses when you defeat a regular Gym member has increased. The amount of Prestige gained by training at a friendly Gym has been lowered.
– Minor text fixes

So if you’re a fan of Pokemon GO, there’s definitely something good to look forward to on the horizon. Now, if only the Pokemon Radar would be re-released back into the game.
