[Updated] Polabit’s new game, Reckless Getaway, now available for Android

Pulling in another temporary exclusive, the Xperia Play seems to be landing a lot of solid titles these days. Granted any developer can add support for the Xperia Play controls to their games at any time, these exclusives are what starts to make the Xperia Play look better and better every day.

Note: Since we posted this article, Polarbit has changed the description of Reckless Getaway to reflect the fact it works for a majority of Android devices. It isn’t exclusive to the Xperia Play which was originally stated in the description. Enjoy!

A prime example of this is Minecraft: Pocket Edition which came out two days ago, exclusively for the Xperia Play. Now Polarbit’s highly anticipated sequel to Reckless Racing is now available and is exclusive to the Xperia Play for about a month before it will arrive on other Android devices.

Reckless Getaway is a new top-down 3D racing game from the crew over at Polarbit which takes the whole ‘reckless’ concept from the tracks to the streets. In Reckless Getaway you are trying to get away from the police as fast, and recklessly, as you can. While dodging and weaving through traffic and ramming cops into oncoming cars, the whole point is to crash, cause mayhem, and smash your way through all 16 levels.

Features:

  • 16 eye-popping, visually amazing Tracks
  • Simple and effective controls
  • Unlock new tracks by earning your rates
  • Global leaderboards, show you’re better than the rest
  • Astonishing physics brings chaos to another level

Polarbit already has more content in the works for Reckless Getaway that will arrive in a future update which includes unlockable chapters and unlockable game modes. If you own an Xperia Play and enjoyed Reckless Racing, or just enjoy smashing stuff with cars, then this is a no-brainer to get. You can grab Reckless Getaway off the Android Market right now for $2.99 for your Xperia Play.

Thanks to Roger Lyons for the tip!

Update August 18th, 2011 7:12am: Word on the street is that this Xperia Play only version actually works on all devices. If you test it out and it works on your non-Xperia Play device, let us know! Thanks to le3ky for the heads up!

Update #2 August 18th, 2011 9:12am: Polarbit has now changed the description to reflex the fact that it’s available for all Android devices (at least that they support). Thanks to everyone who sent this in!
