After two years in the works, Tursiops Truncatus Studios has finally released their cosy puzzler, and it’s now out on mobile. I’m talking about Primrows, a logic-based gardening game. It’s like Sudoku but with flowers instead of numbers.
How Many Primroses Can You Spot in Primrows?
In the game, you’re a puzzle-loving gardener. You have a bit of OCD trying to make sure no flower type repeats in a row, column, or 3×3-ish grid.
The randomness of the blooms has you balancing logic with a bit of luck. It’s Sudoku with dice-like unpredictability.
Primrows has a Quick Play mode if you want to casually match some flowers quickly. It has a deeper Journal mode if you’re up for challenges with extra rules and point-based goals.
Then there are the Weekly Challenges, which throw in seasonal flowers and funky new tiles. Want to take a look at what the game looks like? Watch the launch trailer right here.
The puzzles start off simple but get tricky once you’re a few levels deep. Since the flowers pop up randomly, there’s always a bit of unpredictability in how you approach each new grid.
Looks Pretty
I think the biggest asset of Primrows is its atmosphere. It has a chill ambient soundtrack that makes you feel like you’re actually sitting in a garden. The artwork shifts with the seasons with spring blossoms, autumn vibes and more.
Another great aspect of Primrows is that the devs have covered accessibility for it. The game offers colour blind mode and low vision support. Tursiops has previously created The Day We Fought Space, which brings a similar cosiness to its sci-fi adventure theme.
The game is free to try. If you like it, one purchase unlocks all the levels with no ads. So, check out the game on the Google Play Store.
