Ten Square Games of Fishing Clash, Hunting Clash, and Wings of Heroes fame has dropped a major update for their flight sim. RFS aka Real Flight Simulator has introduced a Real World Engine in its latest update, version 3.0.
Real World Engine brings tons of features to Real Flight Simulator
The new system changes the way the in-game Earth and how flights look and feel from start to finish. The Earth now is a fully spherical model.
Instead of flying over a flat map, you now see the natural curvature of the planet as you climb to higher altitudes. That makes long-haul flights more authentic, with depth, distance, and orientation coming across more convincingly than before.
The globe looks sharper, too. Satellite imagery now delivers clearer textures, while terrain maps now reflect elevation more accurately. Even the polar regions now handle smoother transitions and more reliable flight dynamics.
Fog, which used to blanket vast areas and reduce visibility, has been toned down considerably. So, now you can enjoy extended horizons that open up more realistic views during all phases of flight.
Lighting and atmospheric changes also have been reworked in the Real World Engine. Sunrises and sunsets interact more naturally with the terrain and water.
The lighting system adds stronger contrast and more lifelike reflections, while water bodies now show improved transparency and colour.
Aircraft lighting has also been tuned so details on the fuselage, wings, and surfaces react depending on the conditions. Alongside that, 3D sound has been upgraded for aircraft like the B747-400F, A310-300, MD11F, and MD11.

Launched in 2019, Real Flight Simulator is one of the advanced mobile flight simulators around. It tried to replicate the flying experience as closely as possible. It’s a subscription-based title under the Ten Square Games Group, which RORTOS joined in 2021.
