The sequel to Slayaway Camp is now out on Android. It’s Slayaway Camp 2: Puzzle Horror which had joined Netflix’s gaming library in December 2023. The game is now published as a standalone by Blue Wizard Digital, known for Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle.
What’s New in Slayaway Camp 2: Puzzle Horror?
This one’s surely fun, following in its prequel’s footsteps. This time, the devs have locked the game’s iconic killer Skullface inside a knockoff streaming service called Terrortube. And then they’re letting the blood (read: logic) games begin!
It kicks off with a group of kids summoning an urban legend for fun. So, Skullface arrives and starts slicing, but one kid manages to trap him in a phone. Now, stuck inside Terrortube, Skullface is hijacking cheesy horror flicks, replacing their stars, and going on a killing spree.
You get to unlock 36 killers spread across five bizarre classes. Sure, you get your classic Slashers, but there’s a supernatural edge, too. You’ll see Ghosts that walk through walls, Sorcerers who torch obstacles and victims with projectiles, Beasts that paralyse their prey with a roar, and Monsters who raise the dead into zombie allies.
Each of the game’s 25 parody puzzle movies is a riff on classic horror tropes. They have completely ridiculous titles like The Badly Disfigured Creature Who Kills People and Don’t Take That Frozen Alien Back To Your Antarctic Research Station.
Movies are grouped thematically. There are categories like Law Enforcement Laughs introducing deadly cops, or Sci-Fi Frights showcasing teleporters and other weird tech. There’s even a set of Supernatural Occurrences that highlight how the new killer classes work.
Every film contains 3-5 puzzle scenes, and once you beat them, harder versions unlock. It’s the same general layout, but with new mechanics, new killers, and remixed level elements. On that note, take a look at Slayaway Camp 2: Puzzle Horror below.
You’ll find the sliding-block style of the original
You slide Skullface or another killer across a grid to land next to a terrified camper. He then bolts in the opposite direction until they smack into a wall or something far worse.
The levels pile on complications like crates, gates, switches, mines, shotgun-wielding rednecks, animals that either block your path or blow you up.
