Social gaming network battle heating up. DeNA and DoCoMo form partnership.

DeNA last year bought ngmoco, the publishers of Pocket God on Android and future social games that are on the way. Well DeNA are direct competitors of GREE who purchased OpenFeint on Friday for $104 million. DeNA has now signed a partnership with NTT DoCoMo to bring their social gaming network, Mobage, to devices on DoCoMo.

People with wireless devices on DoCoMo will now have direct access to DeNA’s social gaming network as well as other features such as direct carrier billing for in-game purchases and exclusive early access to new content. Not to be out done with just expanding their reach in Japan, DeNA plans to promote Mobage internationally starting with other Asian countries and in Europe through other deals with carriers like the one they have just made with NTT DoCoMo.

So what about the US? That is what the ngmoco purchase was for. While currently still working on bringing everything to the US using ngmoco, we won’t see the benefits for a little while longer. With two big partnerships within a week, it will be interesting to see what Scoreloop has up their sleeves.
