Space Cube Invaders is a 3D match-3 puzzle game with a Rubik’s Cube look to it, blended with a Space Invaders theme to it. While looking at this game, initially it would look like you are holding off the space invader aliens by match-3 or more of the same colored spots on the 3D cube. You are rescuing the cube planets from the space invaders though.
However, after playing this for a bit, I still haven’t figured out if matching three or more of the same colored spots actually does or does not hold off the space invader aliens that are floating around your big 3D cube. Regardless as to whether or not this actually happens, Space Cube Invaders as a 3D match-3 puzzle game is not too shabby. Players will need to spin the cube in order to keep finding matches to use, matching 4 or more will result in a power-up showing up, and you have to keep going until you either beat the required score (or the specific requirements of that stage) or die because of no matches being left. What you do on one side also affects the other sides.
This game does have a lot of levels to it, so if you really dig into this game you’ll find that it won’t be over with in one sitting. Space Cube Invaders is available for download for free off of Google Play and contains optional IAPs in case you want to buy extra power-ups. You can also see the game in action in the video below.
