Spin Masters’ Sick Bricks brings swappable character pieces and humor-filled gameplay to Android today

If you have been following our extended coverage of GDC 2015 then you probably read our hands-on preview of an interesting game called Sick Bricks by Spin Masters. Combining physical toys with a slew of different games, all located within one title, Sick Bricks is something fans of other titles like Skylanders will want to check out.

Sick Brick has LEGO-style physical character toys that players can purchase as well as accessories like vehicles and monsters. The characters can be scanned easily into the game using your device’s camera and are immediately playable. Each character has their own stats, special abilities, and personalities. What is really interesting is that each character actually comes apart in three sections and these sections can be swapped with other character parts to create totally new characters, each with abilities taken from the parts of others.

The game itself has a goal which is rebuilding Sick City to its former glory. Depending on which section of the city you’re in, the style of gameplay differs. One section could be an arcade shooter, while another section is more of a maze that you have to get through. Along the way you will have to kill enemies and rebuild structures, collect coins and power-ups, and enjoy the humor that is plentiful in this game.

One great thing about this game is that there is an endless amount of possibilities in regards to adding more content in future updates and the developers know it. There are a lot of plans including the possibilities of an open Sandbox-style area possibly being added later on. The piece you buy in store are also very inexpressive as well, with prices ranging from $2.49 up to $16.99 for the biggest package. The game itself is free to download.

For more details about Sick Bricks you can always check out our hands-on with this game and its toys from GDC 2015. Of course you can just download the game as well.
