Square Enix has two more Final Fantasy themed games heading to mobile soon

While Square Enix may not be bringing the actual games from the console/PC series to mobile devices for the foreseeable future, that isn’t stopping the company from bringing spin-off games to mobile. In the past 24 hours two new Final Fantasy games have been announced – Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and Final Fantasy Legends: Crystal Of Time And Space.

Both of the titles for these games are being roughly translated from Japanese so they could be a bit off. They are both slated for release onto mobile devices this Winter but as of right now it isn’t confirmed as to whether this includes a worldwide release for each game at that time or if it is just in Japan to start and then a worldwide release at some point afterwards.

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius

Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius is being developed by Alim who are responsible for the popular game Brave Frontier. This particular Final Fantasy game will be a social RPG and actually doesn’t stray too far from what Brave Frontier happens to be. While a lot of people may not like the concept of a social RPG being stuffed into the Final Fantasy franchise, as it kind of seems like Square Enix is just trying to keep the franchise alive on mobile while they figure out whether or not they can bring Final Fantasy VII and later titles to mobile, the artwork in this particular game is actually quite good.

Final Fantasy Legends: Crystal Of Time And Space

The second game called Final Fantasy Legends: Crystal Of Time And Space is apparently a free-to-play follow-up to Final Fantasy Dimensions. In this game you will be traveling through time to defeat a great evil and save the world again. There isn’t a whole lot of details regarding this game aside from the fact it is apparently following Final Fantasy Dimensions in some fashion.

Since both games are slated for release onto mobile devices in Japan this Winter, we should be able to gather more information when it gets closer to release for each game. This, hopefully, will include details regarding whether or not either of these games will hit worldwide markets at some point. You can check out the teaser site for each game below.
