Subnautica has finally arrived on Android, so, you can now plunge into the mysterious depths of planet 4546B. Released in 2018 on PC by Unknown Worlds, the survival action-adventure game gained popularity for its beautiful underwater exploration and survival mechanics.
Subnautica is a survival open-world undersea
You play as Ryley Robinson, the lone survivor of the spaceship Aurora, which crash-landed on an ocean planet. There are no lush forests or deserts on this planet. You’re surrounded by endless water teeming with life.
The game challenges you to manage your oxygen, hunger, and thirst while you scavenge for resources. The resources are scattered across coral reefs, volcanic zones, and deep caves.
You start off struggling to find food and fresh water. But later you craft complex tools, pilot submarines, and even build your own bases beneath the waves.
There’s a trusty 3D printer and AI voice guiding you. Each dive takes you closer to understanding what happened on the planet and how you might escape it.
Meanwhile, you’ll encounter creatures like the Crabsquid, Warper, Mesmer, Boneshark, Ampeel, Stalker and Crashfish. You’ll also bump into the massive Leviathan-class lifeforms including the Reaper, Sea Dragon, and Ghost Leviathan.

Subnautica on Android launches with a discount
The game retains the same open-world, first-person experience on mobile. It offers different modes depending on how you want to play.
Survival mode pushes you to keep track of hunger, thirst, and oxygen. On the other hand, Freedom mode relaxes the food and water requirements. Meanwhile, Creative mode removes most survival pressures entirely and just lets you explore.
The planet even features two islands to break up the underwater scenery. It also has a day-night cycle and frequent eclipses which constantly change the atmosphere and visibility.
The mobile version has been redesigned with an exclusive mobile interface. It offers full touch controls, Google Play Games achievements, cloud saves for switching between Android devices, and compatibility with controllers.
The game is available on the Google Play Store with a 10% launch discount, dropping the price to $8.99 from its usual $9.99. Also, read our news on Galaxy Frontier 2’s New DLC ‘War for Humanity.’
