The Galaxy of Trian multiplayer beta is now live and available for download

While GDC is generally a time where plenty of mobile games get unveiled, it is also a time where plenty of beta testing phases begin. Another game that now has its beta testing starting up is Galaxy of Trian which is now available for download for folks wanting to test the game out.

Galaxy of Trian is a tile-based tabletop board game with a Sci-Fi theme where players will be exploring an expanding galaxy. This game is really meant to be played with other people, but in order to play the multiplayer mode, you will need to finish a short single-player campaign first. This is more to help teach you the game more than actually being a true single-player mode.

Once multiplayer is unlocked, you will be playing with up to 3 other players per match. The goal is to explore the galaxy as fast as you can in order to discover and control powerful technology that was left behind by the unmatched race Trian. As the game progresses, players form a galaxy full of nebulas, gas clouds, planetary systems and outer space using the tiles. Each turn consists of drawing a tile and then choosing which one in your possession to play on the play field. Within these newly formed areas are where spaceships can move, which is then used to try and take over targets.

The basic unit in the game is an emissary, which has the ability to fight over nebulas and planetary systems. When the player wins dominance in the system, the emissary is able to take control over the research stations left by the Trian race.

Even though the gameplay seems fairly straightforward at first, there is actually quite a lot of strategy involved in this game. Fans of board games or strategy games will probably want to check this one out. To participate in the beta, you just have to be signed up as a tester, download the game off of Google Play, and begin playing. When the game launches fully after this closed beta, it’ll be available for free with optional IAPs.
