Serenity Forge has published two new games this week. These new games on Android are Lisa: The Painful and Lisa: The Joyful of The Lisa Trilogy. If you’ve played these before on PC, you already know the emotional rollercoaster ride these games take you on.

It’s Painful and Joyful at the Same Time

If you haven’t played these games before or haven’t checked them out, here’s a brief intro about them. The series kicked off with Lisa: The First back in 2012 on PC. It’s a retro-style exploration game where you dive into Lisa Armstrong’s mind.

You try to escape a warped, fading reality twisted by trauma. You’re stuck trying to make sense of old memories, weird characters and VHS tapes that hold fragments of the past. It’s surreal and quietly messes with your head.

The sequels Lisa: The Painful and Lisa: The Joyful dropped on PC in 2014 and 2015 respectively. Now these games from The Lisa Trilogy are out on Android in their Definitive Editions, following their updated PC versions from July 2023.

You Can Play The Lisa Trilogy on Android

Lisa: The Painful puts you in the shoes of Brad Armstrong. He wanders through the wasteland of Olathe trying to find his adopted daughter, Buddy.

The game is brutal and miserable but hilarious. The choices you make stick with you permanently. You may end up losing limbs, sacrificing your party and taking hits for others.

Next, Lisa: The Joyful is the final chapter where you play as Buddy. Olathe’s even darker than before, following an event called the White Flash that left the world with only men except for her.

She’s trying to survive and take revenge, while keeping her identity under wraps. You’ll see a darker side of the world and still make a bunch of agonising choices that reshape your whole run.

The Definitive Editions offer updated battle systems, 6 new Warlord skills, new border art, a music player and a painless mode.
