The Star Named EOS has dropped on mobile today in the Crunchyroll Game Vault. Created by Silver Lining Studio, the story-rich puzzle adventure originally landed for PC and consoles in July 2024. They also created Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery, another similar hand-painted adventure.
What’s the Story in The Star Named EOS?
You’ll step into the shoes of Dei, a young photographer trying to figure out what really happened to his mom. He starts seeing some weird inconsistencies in the old travel photos she used to send him as a kid. And that kicks off a pretty emotional and mysterious journey.
The setup slowly flips through a photo album where each page hides something you didn’t expect. Looking at the photos, you try to recreate them by studying the environments and solving puzzles. Most of the puzzles are lovely and intuitive.
Visually, The Star Named EOS is gorgeous. The hand-painted art style really sells the atmosphere, and some of the locations give off a dreamy vibe. The characters, especially in the short cutscenes, may even transport you to a Ghibli landscape.

The Star Named EOS has controller support on mobile and offers multiple language options too. If you’re playing it through Crunchyroll Game Vault, you’ll need a Mega Fan Premium or Ultimate Membership to access it.
