Adventure RPG with Food Souls The Tale of Food Announces Shutdown

The Tale of Food, the RPG adventure management game featuring personified food, is shutting down. It first appeared in China for closed beta in September 2019 and was later distributed by Tencent Games. Keep reading to find out all about The Tale of Food shutdown.

When Is the The Tale of Food Shutdown?

The game, which gave an army of handsome, personified dishes to command, is officially shutting down on March 20th, 2025, at 10:00 AM (UTC+8). And from February 18th, which is today, in-game purchases has been disabled.

Also, new players won’t be able to register from today and the game has been removed from the Google Play Store as well. But if you already have it downloaded, you can still keep playing up until the servers close on March 20th.

What About the Jewels Collected in the Game?

If you bought any between January 9th and February 18th, 2025, you can request a refund. Hit up in-game support or email the devs before March 20th. You can learn more about the T&C of the shutdown on the official X of The Tale of Food.

In case you don’t know, the game’s Japan server already shut down in April 2023. It was then followed by the China server which shut down in June 2024. And now, the global version is next.

With that, your time as the Food God’s kid, managing a realm filled with dumplings and suave seafood, is coming to a close. However, even after the servers shut down, the official X (formerly Twitter), Facebook and Discord communities will stay up. So, there’ll still be a space to reminisce and share the memories.
