This new time-travelling adventure RPG gives you a chance to punch time in the face and fix history. Sounds interesting… It’s Time Enforcers, which dropped today from indie dev PFA Designs. It’s available on Android via the Galaxy Store and Amazon Appstore.
An Action RPG Plus an Interactive Comic
You step into a wild sci-fi storyline where time has gone completely off the rails. Time Enforcers kicks off with Episode One: Time Out of Time. You find yourself in feudal Japan, trying to stop some chaos stirred up by a villain named Chronolith.
Chronolith is the self-declared Imperial Ruler of the Trans-Dimensional Realm, and he’s messing with actual history. As a fresh recruit of the Galactic Space-Time Consortium, you get guidance from some very familiar-sounding mentors like H.G. Wells and Professor C.T. Huygens.
As you must’ve already figured out from their names, these Time Enforcers Agents are based on real historical figures. You’ll find more agents like Amelia Earhart and Benjamin Banneker and Kaizen (who’s not real, but his name is a nod to Japanese philosophy). There’s also Togo, the hero sled dog from the 1925 Serum Run.
You get turn-based battles, puzzles to solve and a narrative that plays out like a fully animated comic. Characters talk and word bubbles pop up. The game is like that so anyone can follow along, whether they’re a kid or an adult.
Time Enforcers Gives You Your Own Time Traveller Toolkit
It’s called the Chronoton 5.12, which helps you answer historical and cultural questions. Bolded text in your mission briefings gives you the clues. And there’s a full reference section inside the Chronoton if you’re curious about the real-world sources used to create the story.
Time Enforcers is really creative in the way it blends fiction and fact. You’ll be solving a puzzle from Chronolith’s right-hand menace, the Inquisitor, which is totally fictitious. But then, you’ll also meet someone like a reimagined Amelia Earhart.
There’s a table of contents that tracks your progress and lets you revisit any chapter you’ve been through. Also, Episode Two is already on the horizon. It’s Flying into the Chrono-Storm, featuring Amelia Earhart.
