The English version of Umamusume: Pretty Derby is arriving soon. With only 10 days left until launch, the developers have dropped a special notification with some of the features and changes that the global version will bring.

Some features will be available right at the launch of Umamusume: Pretty Derby English Version!

Let’s start with the good things first. The landscape mode during races and a jukebox function will be available from day 1. The devs are also planning to bring over quality-of-life improvements sooner than Japan originally got them.

One example is the Guided Career feature, which the Japanese version didn’t receive until its fourth anniversary. Then, there’s cross-platform play, too. It will let you use the same account on both mobile and PC.

They are choosing speed to roll out the content

While every event and Scout from the Japanese version will appear in the global version, the major change is how quickly things will come at players. There won’t be extended gaps between events or banners like in the original.

Instead, everything will move faster, though each event and banner will still last as long as they did in the Japanese version. So, you won’t have to rush through any single event, but you won’t be getting any breaks in between either.

So, how does this impact players? Well, if you’ve been playing JRPGs, you know what it means. A faster schedule means less time to save in-game currency between limited banners. So, if you prefer to play for free, things could get difficult to spark characters without spending.

Games like Heavens Burn Red dealt with this by adjusting rewards for the global version, but there’s been no mention of similar changes here. No dead weeks also means fewer days to complete dailies and gather resources between events.

Only time will tell how this turns out for Umamusume: Pretty Derby English Version and its long-term strategy. Meanwhile, you can pre-register for the game on the Google Play Store if you haven’t already.
