Upcoming Shield Tablet from Nvidia Unofficially Revealed

Set for a July 22nd announcement followed by a July 29th, 2014 release in the US and Canada,  the long rumored Shield Tablet has leaked with all the details attached. Priced at $299 for a 16GB model, $399 for a 32GB model with LTE, the Shield Tablet, made by Nvidia is a powerhouse of a device.

Featuring Nvidia’s Tegra K1 SoC with 192 CUDA cores ,so far only used in the Xiaomi MiPad,  paired with 2GB of RAM and a QuadCore 2.2 GHz A15 CPU. The tablet itself has an 8″ HD LCD display with a resolution of  1920×1200, comes with a stylus like the Nvidia Tegra Note 7,  and has expandable memory via a Micro SD Card port which supports up to 128 extra GB. A front facing 5MP camera is on the tablet, a good feature for those who like making Skype calls.

The controller that goes along with the tablet will be sold separately for $59. Similar in form to the controller on the current Nvidia Shield, the controller will let users stream PC games using GameStream, along with playing Android Games while taking advantage of the GamePad mapper. 

The Shield Tablet has a copy of Trine 2 loaded onto the system and is coming to Europe on August 14, a few weeks after it’s US and Canada release date.
