Virtual Boy Emulation Can Be Done With Google Cardboard

Nintendo Virtual Boy may not be the worst failure in gaming history, but it was definitely Nintendo’s biggest mistake. In case you were eager to play its small library of games but didn’t want to spend money on a Virtual Boy, you can now use an emulator with Google Cardboard.

Google Cardboard is a VR headset of sorts that allows you to use a phone’s screen as a VR headset by sliding it in to the special cardboard box. The box has lenses inside that you view the screen through. A plugin is available that makes Virtual Boy games playable by streaming them from a PC to your phone screen.

The Virtual Boy has a storied past due to being a commercial failure and the literal headaches it gave consumers. If you want to experience it this may be the way to go if you can’t get your hands on an original system. All the download links are available on RetroCollect.
