Zepto Lab answers a few questions about Cut the Rope. Paid version? Market release?

Cut the Rope landed on Android late last night, or early this morning depending on where you are, and with it your free time will be sucked away into oblivion. However, some people has concerns and questions regarding the release of Cut the Rope and our friends at Androidnews.de got some answers.

One question was regarding one of the permissions that the game asks for you to accept before installing it. The ‘Read contacts’ permission was of one concern and Zepto Lab addresses this specific permission request. This permission is needed because of the Scoreloop integration with Cut the Rope but apparently, due to users complaining about it, they plan to trim down the Scoreloop features which should eventually remove this permission requirement. This will happen in a future update. If you have concerns about permissions, feel free to read our recent article about common permissions and how to save yourself from guessing if a developer is legit or not.

While the version on GetJar is free and will remain free, this brings up another couple of questions: Will there be an ad-free paid version? Also will Zepto Lab be releasing Cut the Rope onto the Android Market?

To answer the first question, yes, there will be a paid ad-free version which will be available in the coming weeks. As for the Android Market, Zepto Lab is still deciding whether to release the free, paid, or both versions on the Android Market. Currently there is no real time frame given for when Cut the Rope will be on the official Android Market. Until then, go enjoy it off of GetJar.

Oh, and yes, that is the real Cut the Rope on GetJar. Some people still think it isn’t the real one, but it is.
