Another few months roll on, and REDMAGIC have released another phone. Yet instead of being a tired retread the 11 Pro feels like a piece of tech that noticeably improves on its predecessor.
Considering that was the 10s Pro, a phone we called “a must have smartphone if you’re a gamer” that’s no mean feat.
So let’s dive into why that is, and why this is a phone well worth looking into if you’re at all serious about your mobile gaming.
Very cool

The biggest addition for the 11 Pro is the cooling tech incorporated into it. Titled AquaCore liquid cooling, it’s AI server-grade power – and it’s the first time it’s been used in a mass-produced smartphone.
You can even see it working on the back of the device (whether you go for the Subzero or Nightfreeze variant), and is hypnotic to watch in action.
That’s not to say it’s just a nice thing to stare at though, far from it. Boasting a 24,000 rpm waterproof fan and 13,166mm2 vapor chambers, it’s one of the most impressive cooling systems we’ve seen in a smartphone.
We threw hours of play of graphically intense titles at the 11 Pro, and not once did we feel the system heating up to an uncomfortable degree – so it works, and then some.
You can turn off the fan and Liquid Cooling too, and it’s easy to do so. This worked well when we weren’t playing the more intensive games.
How about performance?

In terms of what’s under the hood, the 11 Pro boasts a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 8-core chipset. This is a step up in terms of CPU and GPU power, and we could feel it. Every game we threw at the device, it handled smoothly.
As for battery, this is an area where the device impresses too. It can be charged quickly (wirelessly or wired) via an 80W connection, and lasts a good amount of time regardless of what you’re playing.
We generally managed 9-11 hours of gaming without a need for a recharge, and this was with multiple applications open at the same time too.
Anything else?

Everything about the 11 Pro is of an impressive quality, from the touch screen that feels as responsive as any you’ll find on any phone to the luxurious full AMOLED 6.85-inch screen.
We found games we’d played for years look better on this than ever before, and – not to sound cliched – almost breathed new life into them.
There’s a range of helpful extra features such as wet-hand mode too – which allows you to use the device even if the screen is wet – that makes this a suitable option even if you’re not after a mobile that’s good at playing games.
For gamers or even more casual players, the 11 Pro is worth a look if you’re after a new smartphone.
Bar raised
REDMAGIC have created another superb smartphone that should be strongly considered by any dedicated mobile gamer.
