Back during GDC 2012 we filmed and tested a bunch of demos that ARM has running at their booth which was to show off the Mali chip. Recently they released a video showing off Timbuktu, a racing game with some pretty nice eye candy. Today they have released a slew of videos showing off the Mali chip once again.
Back during GDC 2012 ARM was present to show off their Mali chip by having some graphically heavy, and impressive, games on hand to demo. One of them is their in-house developed dune buggy racing game Timbuktu. Well ARM has decided to make another video to show everything off once more.
Back in the beginning of GDC 2012 last week, we mentioned that ARM was on site showing off some games and demos featuring their new Mali chip. We later met back up with ARM to talk about the Mali chip and try out some of the demos while figuring out which ones would actually be released as games.
All the chip manufacturers are out in full force this GDC and even though the show floor doesn’t open till tomorrow, a couple of companies had a few demos rolling at tables during the current Smartphone and Tablet Gaming Summit at GDC 2012.
It appears our friends over at Pockett have spotted another case of Ilo Milo but this time with a racing game called Timbuktu. ARM’s promise with Cortex A-9 chips has been tremendous. Will they really keep up with modern games, especially the pace there moving at today? Not only does it support the newest CPU’s available, similar to the ones’s Samsung is working on. It will also include a much improved (and needed) GPU improvement for video quality in games, this will be likely on tablets and high-end smartphones.
