Snakes & Ladders is a board game most of us have probably played at least once or twice as a child, mainly because it is a simple but fun (sometimes frustrating) board game. Well this family tradition of a board game has been brought over to Android with a refreshed look but with the same infuriating gameplay (when you land on a snake’s head).

Last week King, the developers of Candy Crush Saga and publisher of numerous browser-based games, made headlines a few times for a few different reasons. First it was about the company trademarking the word ‘Candy’, then going after another game called The Banner Saga for its use of the word Saga, and then it was about a developer accusing King of publishing a copy of their game.
Well it is that time again for another round-up of Android games on sale this weekend. There is actually not a huge difference between this week’s mid-week round-up and this one besides a few additions to the list like the shmup title Sine Mora.

The developers of Candy Crush Saga have been in the news a lot over the last few days and not for any particular good reason. King made headlines over the recent trademarking of the word ‘Candy’ and then made even more headlines by trying to go after the developers of The Banner Saga because they used the word ‘Saga’, another word that King has trademarked.
It’s been a crazy week with CES 2014 on the go here in Las Vegas, a slew of projects we have been working on as well in order to get them ready for launching, so needless to say we are pretty exhausted. One of the more popular puzzle games on iOS has made the leap over to Android today. Developed by State of Play Games, KAMI is a very aesthetically beautiful paper folding puzzle game where just looking at the visuals and relaxing while playing is almost as good as playing the actual game itself.
Sony has release the Ratchet and Clank: Before The Nexus endless runner that we originally talked about heading our way back in October of this year. Even though there already happens to be a ton of endless runners out there in mobile gaming land, this one is a bit different and pretty fun even though the entire genre is starting to get tired.
Glu Mobile have pushed out updates to three of their games on Android, all of which contains new holiday content for players of each game to check out. Frontline Commando D-Day, Deer Hunter 2014 and Stardom Hollywood all have updates available with unique holiday goodies for each title.
If you follow this site on a regular basis then you know we’ve been apart of the beta testing going on since it launched recently. Reporting on the upcoming 0.8.0 update for Minecraft: Pocket Edition has been fun because there’s just so much coming with this update that even the official changelog on Google Play doesn’t mention it all. The update is now here for everyone who have been patiently waiting for it.

Since the beginning of the beta testing phase that Mojang started with Minecraft: Pocket Edition and the upcoming 0.8.0 update, there have been a slew of changes and tweaks made to the game between then and now. However the final build of the update has been finished and the 0.8.0 update has been submitted to Apple for approval. It has been stated officially that the Android release will launch at the same time as the iOS one does.
