Real PC and console games on mobile devices are a kind of holy grail of gaming. And, like the grail, they are probably just fantasy and will never truly materialize. For now, we have to be happy with pretty versions of our favorites that offer abbreviated feature sets and gameplay ported over from their PC and console counterparts. It really was only a matter of time, especially after the news of Google investing in Zynga, the makers of Farmville who are expected to be releasing it for Android at some point in the near future, that another Facebook game company would release their title onto the Android market. If you used to enjoy the original Sim City and perhaps still do then there is a bit of good news for you. Saint Feint City, which used to go by the name of RetroVillage until a recent update, lets you go back to those old school days of building a city and hoping it flourishes. Layout and graphics are very reminiscent of the original Sim City game.
A trend is happening. This trend is about exclusive content for some phones. We’ve seen it with the EVO launch and the new Need For Speed game which, as far as I know, never actually got released. Then there was the new DiCaprio Inception Movie exclusive game for the Verizon Droid and Droid Incredible recently. Now there is another game exclusive to T-Mobile’s Samsung Vibrant.
During Google I/O 2010 a game called Skies of Glory was shown running on a Droid. Since then we have also reported on Social Gaming Network, SGN for short, who developed Skies of Glory. Well this 3D aerial combat game is now available on the Android market and features cross-platform multiplayer which will allow you to dogfight and kill your iPhone enemies!
