Glasses-Free 3D Gaming on Android soon!

The GTC (GPU Technology Conference) also ended this week and if you could take one thing away from it then it would have to be this little bit of information. 3D glasses-free gaming on Android is possible and will hopefully be coming in the near future. While we weren’t able to attend GTC 2010 the crew over at Android and Me was and came back to report on this great news.

VDCC Round-up: Samsung Tablets and more

VDCC (Verizon Developer Community Conference) was fairly interesting on a few levels. First we found more proof that indeed Unreal Engine is heading for Android. Secondly, Asokan Thiyagajan who is the Director of Platforms & Technology Strategy for Samsung inadvertently revealed more details about the upcoming Samsung Tablets. Yes that is plural.

Android market and iOS app store each have several hundred thousand great applications that many couldn’t imagine their lives without. However for Android, games seem to have stood still until recently. Changing is on the horizon however, especially with the release of social gaming networks like OpenFeint and recent flood of iOS games coming to Android.

Recently we broke news about a job listing over at Sony Playstation for a Senior Server Engineer and had one of the requirements listed as “Experience in Mobile Development, Specifically Android a plus”. Well it seems that after we broke the story and word spread to numerous sites, Sony got wind and has changed the actual job listing!

New Polarbit Game Now Avilable!

Polarbit are known for their great 3D games for Android which including Raging Thunder 1 and 2, Toon Warz, and Fuzzies. Their latest release, with partner Fabrication Games, breaks away from their standard action 3D game mold and brings a puzzle game to Android instead. This is a matching 3 (or more) of the same object puzzle game with a pirate theme.

This isn’t entirely new news nor is it anything groundbreaking since EA has been involved with deploying some of their games onto the Android platform so not a huge need to post about it right away.
