Some big news coming out of the world of game development. Tim Sweeney, the CEO of Epic Games has come out today to announce that the new version of their game development engine, Unreal Engine 4, will be free and available to anyone who wants to make video games. That can be PC, mobile, console, whatever.

So Google is celebrating another birthday with Google Play, the third one to be exact, and like the previous two birthday, this one also has a bunch of books, movies, music, apps, games, and so on discounted. Right now, in total, there are 33 different items on sale in order to celebrate Google Play turning three years old.
A game about building spaceships, and then being betrayed and having to leave said spaceship is coming to Android (along with iOS). Titled Defect SDK (SDK stands for Spaceship Destruction Kit and not what you thought it meant) the game is mainly a single player affair, though it does allow players to share ship designs online.
Paradox Interactive have announced that they will be releasing a sequel to their very popular RPG title called the Knights of Pen & Paper. Officially titled Knights of Pen & Paper 2, this game brings the role of playing a tabletop RPG back to Android. If you are not familiar with this franchise, it is definitely one of the more interesting ones out there.
NVS, the developers behind the recently released Bing Bong game we reported on not too long ago, has released a new game onto Android called Pivot. In fact this new game is in the same minimalistic style as their previous release Bing Bong but that is just visually. Gameplay-wise it is a different game.
Kemco releases a lot of games onto Google Play, most of which are retro-style JRPGs. One of their more popular titles is Alphadia Genesis and today the company has released a sequel to that game, officially titles Alphadia Genesis 2. This new Alphadia game continues the story where the first game left off and doesn’t stray too far from the original game’s style as well.
Early this month Nvidia pushed out an OTA update bringing version 2.2 to Shield Tablets. While the update was a good one, a few minor bugs popped up from it, one of which our reader Michel Mohr pointed out had to do with a display bug where reds were being displayed as oranges instead.
Mad Catz announces the L.Y.N.X.3 mobile game controller and S.U.R.F.r, their mobile media and game controller
During CES 2015 Mad Catz announced the L.Y.N.X.9 mobile game controller which transformed into something that would fit into your pocket, yet is also a full-sized game controller. It also had an attachment which was a keyboard, and three different modes depending on what you wanted to use it for – Mobile game mode, PC mode, multimedia mode. What Mad Catz has done is taken those features and created two separate products for those of you who want one or the other, not both.
OrangePixel has been working on a new game for mobile called Space Grunts and has been recording the entire process of building the game. Well most of the process. Anyways, each week OrangePixel releases a new video showcasing the work done to the game during the past week and today there is a new video to check out.
When people here the term Puzzle-RPG, generally one thinks of an RPG title meshed with a match-3 puzzle game. Dungeon Link from Gamevil is a Puzzle-RPG but is actually a bit of a different type of game then you would think with it being in that genre. In fact the puzzle aspect of this game is actually a lot more action-based then you would expect it to be.
