Measured Software’s newest title on the market (now complete with OpenFeint) Pocket Racing is what mobile gaming is supposed to be. It’s fast, it’s addicting and best of all it’s good. An online multiplayer mode will come out sometime in the future. Continue past the break for the full review.
Sibblingz brought social gaming fanatics their popular game Happy Island. Now they are getting ready to launch It Girl, their popular RPG social gaming from Facebook onto the Android platform and it will use the Facebook single sign-on technology for mobile that was announced at yesterdays Facebook mobile conference.
Reckless Racing is one of the better, if not the best, racing game available for Android devices. Between that and Pocket Racing you should have a pretty good grasp on your racing game addiction. Interestingly enough, Pixelbrite has come out to say that part of their success is in thanks to LocDirect which helped in the localization process.
PopCap must be feeling a bit of pressure regarding the mobile gaming scene, specifically regarding Android. While other flash gaming sites have jumped on board with Android with full support, PopCap seems to have fallen behind after their initial announcement of supporting flash gaming on Android. Today they announced some good news though.
If you don’t feel like setting up your Wiimote to be used with your Android phone, you can always do what this one gamer did and just attach a SNES controller to your phone. May take a bit more work but you’ll end up with your own portable gaming Android device. This little craft is done using the devices PDMI port.
It seems as though the mobile gaming arena is heating up a bit more with the sudden announcement of Sharp bringing a phone into the mix which will run Android and provide… 3D glasses-free gaming and movies. Named the Galapagos, this Android device will have a few 3D games and movies available at the time of launch.
Uniwar is TBS Games’ most recent, and most recently updated turn-based tactics game available now on the Android Market. Featuring rich multiplayer, a familiar Advance Wars style of strategy and a Starcraft theme TBS Games has developed something really compelling here and it’s definitely landed itself on our to-follow list.
While iOS is enjoying some Unreal Engine 3 love, first with Epic Citadel and now the announcement of RPG game called Infinity Blade, the screenshots released give us a better look into what we can expect when we start seeing Android games made with Unreal Engine 3. Some already are being made such as Dungeon Defenders.
As you are probably already aware, the Facebook mobile event is going on right now. While there is a lot of information coming from this event related to Android, when it comes to gaming there has been little noise made. Well except the fact that Zynga will be releasing it’s Poker game first instead of Farmville. Why? Find out after the break.
While this doesn’t come as a huge surprise considering that all the Galaxy S phones so far include SRs 5.1 Mobile for surround sound, it is still a noteworthy announcement considering that up until now there was no word on what sort of audio we can expect with the Samsung Galaxy Tablet.
