In what can only be looked at as down right annoying for anyone who has just recently purchased a new Android phone (or any phone for that matter) from T-Mobile, if this apparent merger goes through, you’ll need to replace it already with one that supports AT&T 3G bands if you want to have 3G speeds.

Sony Ericsson giving away Xperia Plays during pre-launch competitions. Great if you’re in the UK.
Well all of our UK-based readers are getting a little bit of good news this morning regarding the Xperia Play. It seems that Sony Ericsson is giving you a chance to win one during a bunch of pre-launch competitions. There are a total of 10 Xperia Play phones being given away through various news sites between now and launch time.
Once in awhile it is great to see people sticking by their believes, even if they are facing what could be a pretty promising career at a major company. In this instance, Sony has been looking around the internet for hackers who jailbreak various devices to add to their development team and one person they asked was Koush.

If you have been wondering where the thumbs came from in the previous Xperia Play commercial that was released a couple weeks ago showing the Android mascot getting human thumbs surgically attached onto him in some remote dirty sweatshop, you’re in luck! Seems Sony Ericsson has addressed this question in yet another video.
Xperia Play to launch March 28? Unlocked version already up for pre-orders at Play.com and Expansys USA.
According to numerous sites both in the media and ones that sell mobile devices, the apparent launch date for public sale for the Xperia Play will be March 28, 2011. While this is a little over a month away still, some sites already have the unlocked edition of the Xperia Play up for pre-order but the prices are all over the place.
Once in a very rare while we end up finding something that is just too awesome to pass up on reporting on even though it isn’t Android related. It has happened twice before with the Keg/PC by nVidia shown at CES 2011 and also with the USB Nerf rocket launcher. We can now add the Gamerator to this distinguished list.
Back in our interview with Hyrum Fairbanks, he let out that he was working on a Bluetooth version of the Game Gripper. Well it seems that it’s now a reality with a working demo. He’s also started a Kickstarter page to get the project more funded and to be able to make these bad boys in bulk. Video after the jump.
Tegra 3 announced: nVidia brings it to MWC 2011 and shows it off working in Android devices already
Well not only a couple hours after we post about Tegra 3 possibly being announced at MWC 2011, it gets confirmed, displayed and shown off in a working Android device. nVidia also let loose their roadmap for future which, in 2 1/2 years time, nVidia plans to have a chip out that is 75x faster than the Tegra 2.
With the announcement of the Qualcomm/ARM quad-core chip at MWC 2011, it is looking like the processor battle is starting to hear up. Hot on the heels of that announcement, nVidia is apparently set to unveil the Tegra 3 chip tomorrow during MWC 2011 as well and thanks to that leaked timeline, we know so specs already.
I’m sure everyone was ready for the onslaught of Xperia Play news that was going to happen once the official announcement was made yesterday so here is yet another article about the Xperia Play.
