Today Sony has begun accepting developer sign-ups for the beta version of their Playstation SDK. The SDK from Sony is to provide developers a more uniform platform in which to develop games for the PS Vita and Sony’s Android devices which include the Sony S and Sony P tablets, the Xperia play as well as future devices.

Just two days ago we announced that Unreal Engine is now supporting Flash 11 officially. Crytek, developers of games such as Crysis, have come out to give their opinion about the mobile gaming industry and that they will not be making games for the new PS Vita anytime soon. Why is that? Because of mobile platforms like iOS and Android being where the mobile gamers are going.
Square Enix has released games, even recently, onto the Android Market and has been for awhile on iOS. Well now it seems they are ready to just jump right into mobile gaming full force as they have just set up a department/company under them called HippoLabs which will be dedicated to mobile gaming on Smartphones.
Former Player X CEO and Co-Founder, Tony Pearce, who is also a veteran in the games industry has founded a new company called TeePee Games. What TeePee Games aims to do is help players find all the good games they can handle regardless of platform which means games across mobile smartphones, social sites (i.e. Facebook) and Flash games.
VDC (Verizon Developer Community) Conference just ended and we happen to attend it looking for any little tidbits of information that we could find. Recently we broke news about a job listing over at Sony Playstation for a Senior Server Engineer and had one of the requirements listed as “Experience in Mobile Development, Specifically Android a plus”. Well it seems that after we broke the story and word spread to numerous sites, Sony got wind and has changed the actual job listing!
