We posted a short update on our Google+ page and on Twitter at the beginning of last week as to what we would be doing over the course of the past 7 days but for those of you who don’t follow us on either of those social media outlets (shame on you!), you may be wondering what has been up with the site lately with the lack of posting, and when we did post, it was late at night.
We’ve been waiting for the multiplayer version of Shadowgun to arrive since we got to play with it back during CES 2012. Now it looks like the game is heading into the final stages of development as the closed beta for Shadowgun: Deadzone is now available. This is a limited closed beta and only devices in the Czech Republic can take part in it.
2K Games, the famous developers behind the NBA simulation game series on PC and console, have launched their latest effort onto Android as well. Basketball fans in particular and sports fans in general will surely welcome the arrival of this series on Android as it brings along with it great graphics and gameplay.
Google Play may not short of auto-running platformers, but Rayman Jungle Run is a welcome addition. Well, a more than welcome addition in fact. Powered by the same Ubisoft engine that Rayman Origins runs on and developed by Pastagames for mobile devices (I’m hungry already), Rayman Jungle Run is the kind of game you immediately appreciate the moment you start playing.
The much anticipated re-branded and expanded Playstation Suite, now known as Playstation Mobile, will be going live today for those of you in the Eastern time zone as of the time of writing this. The rest of us on the west will be waiting a few hours but regardless, Playstation Mobile will be going live along with all of its features.
For those of you who happen to be arcade bums like myself back in the 1980s and 1990s, where we could have easily paid rent for a permanent residence inside an arcade with the amount of quarters we spent, will be happy to know that the classic Zaxxon arcade game will be time traveling from the past and arriving on our phones and tablets soon as Zaxxon Escape, all thanks to Sega who have decided to resurrect the franchise.
Rovio, once known solely for their Angry Birds games which involved slinging birds into pigs (or in one case, cages), has now diversified its gaming portfolio. Their previous game, Amazing Alex, was a puzzler which required you to come up with crazy contraptions to solve simple tasks. Now, they’ve married the antagonists from the Angry Birds universe with the puzzling and contraption-heavy nature of Amazing Alex to come up with Bad Piggies.
Ratrod Studios, the developers behind the successful Drift Mania Championship, have produced a sequel and added the number 2 to their original game. The game promises to deliver the ultimate drift experience with its highly addictive gameplay and next generation graphics.
Another Marvel Universe based game is on the horizon and this time it will be coming in the form of a TCG called Marvel: War of Heroes. As of right now there isn’t a whole lot of information regarding this upcoming Marvel title but we do know a few key points about it. First, we know that this TCG will be coming integrated with DeNA’s social gaming platform (Mobage) which means this will also be a free-to-play title.
