There has been a lot of hype around Gameloft’s temporarily exclusive Xperia Play game called Backstab lately. Well for all of you lucky Xperia Play owners, the wait is no more. As mentioned last week, the game was set to be released today and indeed it was. You can now purchase Backstab for your Xperia Play.
Pocket Legends turns 1yr old this month and to celebrate there is a lot going on. The game servers is currently under maintenance to ring in the new goodies for everyone and there is a lot of it including free content which is usually accessible only through paying for it. That certainly isn’t all though so read on for all the details!
Square Enix just announced a new game is in the works for iOS and Android and just by how the announcement looks, it could be an RPG. This is great new considering Square Enix has some pretty awesome RPGs already out on iOS including all the Final Fantasy spin-offs. This could be another one of those or something completely new.
A lot of people dislike the fact that Gameloft still refuses to sell their games on the Android Market, regardless of the reasons. However, as they release more titles onto Android, it could be getting harder for people to resist going to their store and nabbing one. Eternal Legacy was just launched which is Gameloft’s Final Fantasy-type game.
Spacetime Studios has released an update for their very popular cross-platform 3D MMORPG called Pocket Legends. In this update there was a fair amount of improvements and tweaks to the overall user experience to make things smoother including a new character creation screen which shows you what your character will look like in-game.
Backstab is set to be released very soon for the Xperia Play exclusively for a short period of time before it comes to other ‘supported’ Android devices. A blend between Assassin’s Creed and Prince of Persia style gaming, Backstab features and open world and dynamic combat complete with counter-attacks and other fun stuff.

For those of you who are Dungeon Defenders fans, Second Wave is now available on the Android Market but only for the Xperia Play right now. The sequel to the first Dungeon Defenders is still powered by our friend, Unreal Engine.
In what is probably the strangest yet one of the more entertaining mash-ups of gaming genres out for… well any platform, DJ Rivals brings the world of DJ battles to Android and shoves it in a world of location-based RPG. Wrap some interesting cartoon-like graphics around this melting pot of gaming genres and it gets pretty interesting.
One of the most unusual games available for Android, Godville is ideal for busy or lazy gamers – because it pretty much plays itself. Confused? It is basically an RPG game where you are not the main character for once but instead the deity he worships. We spoke to the development team to clear a few things up…
“Earth and Legend” is a high-definition full 3D RPG coming to many platforms, including Android. As more and more information gets released the game just sounds even better and better. A while back we learned about the day and night cycle, and now we have new pictures of working weather and some NPCs roaming the world.
