Nvidia is gearing up to release the new version of the Android OS called Lollipop onto the company’s Shield Tablet soon and yesterday they released a video showing off Lollipop on said tablet along with some of the cool features we can expect to see when it arrives as an OS update using the Simple Software Update feature on the tablet.

If you are not yet sold on getting an Nvidia Shield Tablet for your Android gaming needs, this morning Nvidia began teasing on Twitter that there are a bunch of new features coming to their tablet, the biggest one being Android 5.0 Lollipop.
The NVDIA Shield Tablet is receiving a new update today, that brings more “enhancements and fixes” to the device. It will be available for both the 16 GB Wi-Fi model and the 32 GB LTE model, which launches today.
Nvidia’s GeForce Experience 2.1.1 for PC is available for download. Now with support for the Shield Tablet.
Nvidia’s set of utilities for the PC, called the GeForce Experience, has had an updated pushed out to it which brings some improvements all around to features like ShadowPlay as well as bringing additional support overall for the Nvidia Shield Tablet.
This is probably the fastest we’ve seen a device going from announcement to launch, at least when it comes to Nvidia. They are definitely not wasting any time with getting their new Shield Tablet into the hands of Android gamers and today customers in Canada and the US are having their units shipped out.
Yesterday we reported on Nvidia’s upcoming Shield Tablet and the massive leak that basically unofficially announced the new device along with pricing, hardware specs and pretty much everything else related to it. Today is the official announcement from Nvidia themselves along with all the details, pricing and launch date information as well.
We had previously reported on the FCC filing of the NVIDIA Shield 2, but it is not the only Shield device in the works apparently. Rumors of a NVIDIA Shield Tablet started with a tablet, named “NVIDA Mocha,” when it appeared on GFXBench. Later, the site Fudzilla posted a story about this 7.9″ tablet being a part of the Shield Brand.
