It is no secret that Sony Ericsson and Kristen Schaal work together to promote the Xperia Play and some of the games that are available for the device. Generally most of these videos are pretty funny while some border on a bit disturbing as well. After a small break it seems Kristen is back with another promo video.
An indie developer has posted a new game over on the XDA forums based off the FPS (first-person shooter) game Counter-Strike. Some people may call it a port but it really is a game built from the ground up using Unity3D that happens to use some of the Counter-Strike assets.
Sega will be continuing their push into the Android Market soon with a new game, exclusive to the Xperia Play for now, called Virtua Tennis Challenge. We got a chance to meet up with Mike from Sega who is the Brand Manager for Virtua Tennis on mobile platforms and had some fun playing this upcoming game.
It looks like we get to start covering CES 2012 stories before CES even begins. Sega has announced that they will be debuting / showing off their upcoming Android title called Virtua Tennis Challenge. While this will be for all Android devices eventually, it looks like the launch will be an Xperia Play exclusive from the sounds of things.
This year has been a mixed bag for Android gamers. Disappointments were the name of the of the day but yet despite the these lowly setbacks, Android gaming also took a huge leap in the right direction. Between massive jumps in hardware performance, more new features added to the OS regarding gaming and gaming specific devices released, it has been a great year for Android gaming.
By now we are all used to the Xperia Play occasionally getting exclusive games. Sometimes they are temporary while others have been long one or even permanently exclusive for the Xperia Play. However, it really doesn’t get more exclusive than this when it comes to a new game for the Play called Pac-Man Kart Rally.
Two new games have arrived in the past couple of days exclusive to the Xperia Play called Experiment 13 and Fight Game: Heroes. Experiment 13 is actually developed and published by Sony Ericsson themselves while Fight Game: Heroes is from a studio called Fight Game Interactive.
OnLive has been updated to fully support the Xperia Play and the phones built-in game controller which should make a lot of Xperia Play owners happy. Until now there was only a patched version floating around from XDA which would allow owners to fully use the controls the phone comes with.
A little bit of bad news today for anyone waiting to get their hands on Sonic CD for Android without having to go but a tablet from GameStop. Unfortunately Sega has confirmed that it will be delayed until early 2012 for Android devices even though the iOS version is set to be released tomorrow.
