Craneballs Studios releases their FPS game Overkill. Plenty of blood and weapons to play with.

Craneballs Studios have released their FPS (frist-person shooter) game called Overkill onto the Android Market. It comes complete with plenty of blood to enjoy and plenty of weapons to play around with while shooting enemies in the face.

Overkill is Craneballs Studios second release on the Android Market, the first being a game called SuperRope. In Overkill you will be playing in the near future as a mercenary who has been hired to fight against the enemy forces of the people who have hired you. You will earn money for everyone you kill and everything you destroy which is always a bonus. There are plenty of weapons to buy (18 in total) that all can be upgraded as well with Scopes, Stocks, Cartridges, Barrels and Frontmouths for a total of over 100 combinations.

Overkill Features:

  • 18 weapons to buy with plenty of upgrades for over 100 different combinations to make
  • Great graphics and controls
  • 30 Ranks to earn: Get promoted from Private to General
  • OpenFeint integration: 84 Achievements and 9 Leaderboards to keep you entertained
  • 100 waves of enemies over 5 locations with 5 extra ‘hell’ waves
  • Lots of different enemies to kill from soldiers to flying drones
  • Lots of blood and explosions (always a plus)
  • Upgrade your weapon the way you like, take a Snapshot and send it to your friends
  • Detailed Stats you measure your progress (kills, bullets shot, accuracy, etc)

This game is available for free to download and is a free-to-play title. It does come with an in-game store where you can buy Overkill Medals which can be used to unlock some of the more powerful weapons and upgrades. Of course this is completely optional as you earn 1 Overkill Medal every time you rank up as well. You can also earn free Overkill Medals through Tapjoy or by sharing Overkill on Facebook and through e-mail.

Overall this game is pretty entertaining, especially if you like FPS games. While not your typical FPS title in the sense of multiplayer functionality, it still is a good solid single player game to play. As we just mentioned, you can download Overkill off the Android Market for free if you have a device that it supports. So far we do know that it does not support Tegra 2 devices, or most of them anyways.
