NCSoft creates a mobile-only game studio called Iron Tiger Studios. Possible Blade & Soul Mobile and others for the West?

NCSoft, the folks behind the Guild Wars franchise, Blade & Souls, Aion and more, has announced today that they’re created a new mobile game studio called Iron Tiger Studios. While NCSoft has released mobile games and companion apps in the past, those particular games have been focused towards Asian markets.

With Iron Tiger Studios, it’ll be more western-facing, as the office will be based out of San Mateo, California. Iron Tiger Studios will be tasked with creating original mobile games, as well as taking advantage of NCSoft’s existing portfolios. Back in August one of the games in NCSoft’s portfolio called Blade & Soul, which is nearing its Western release on PC, had details show up about a Blade & Soul mobile game. While it was originally announced for the Asian markets, there is now hope that it could come to the West. Same with other mobile games based off of their PC game portfolio. This mobile game is supposed to be an Action-TCG hybrid type of game.

The new studio is still hiring, so you can check out http://www.ncsoft.com/en/careers if that’s in your wheelhouse; they’re looking to round out three distinct development teams, as well as a self contained mobile publishing group. If nothing else, this should indicate a serious dedication and intention to develops more mobile games. You can check out the Blade & Soul Mobile game trailer above. So good news for fans of NCSoft games hoping to play mobile games based off of their PC franchises.
