Mario Kart Tour, Nintendo’s popular free-to-play mobile Mario Kart incarnation, is finally getting a longed-for landscape mode in an update going live tomorrow.
The move follows a full year of frank bemusement about the omission of a landscape mode thus far. Given that movement in a racing game is predominantly horizontal rather than vertical, it seems likely that landscape will immediately become the default option for most players.
You check see the new landscape mode in action below.
Meanwhile, the latest Mario Kart Tour event is still going on until July the 23rd. Heavy Hitters Pipe allows you to unlock Dry Bowser, Funky Kong, Wario, and Rosalina.
Mario Kart Tour is available for free right now on Google Play.
