NieR Reincarnation Western Release Confirmed, New Trailer Unveiled

NieR Reincarnation, the highly anticipated mobile entry in the popular NieR franchise, has been confirmed for a western release. Previously it was only a lock in Japan.

On top of that, Square Enix has released a new trailer. It reveals, well, not very much. The whole thing is carved up into subliminally brief segments punctuated by bursts of static. There are side-scrolling sections and 3D sections in the mix.

The deliberately evasive trailer probably gives a good idea of the game’s general style. Directed by Yoko Taro, it’s likely to be a little bit surreal.

While details remain elusive, we know that NieR Reincarnation is being developed by Applibot, a studio with a significant amount of experience in mobile action-RPGs. We also know that the game will be free-to-play, with gacha mechanics.

If you’re lucky enough to live in Japan, you can pre-register for NieR Reincarnation right now. Otherwise you’ll just have to wait a while longer.
